Sleep Talk Antics

Have you seen this guy?  http://sleeptalkinman.blogspot.com/

I saw a piece about it on The Today Show and wanted to look it up.  Space-brain that I am, I completely forgot to.  Thanks to my dear friend, Dr. Brian Dickert, for reminding me!

Bwaaaaaahahahahahahaha! Sure Cure For a Cough

My 3-year-old crawled up next to me in bed this morning and said:

"I'm going to choke the cough out of you now.  Are you ready?"

I was admittedly a little concerned, but curiosity won in the end.  "Yep, ready!"

Bryce then slapped my left cheek twice.

"Is it gone?"

I tested.  Nope, cough's still there.

Bryce then proceeded to slap my right boob 8 times.  "Did that fix it?"

I took a deep breath...no cough.  "Yep, that did it!"

Bryce sat looking very pleased with himself.  That kid's a doctor in the making, I tell you.

Warning: May Walk or Talk in Sleep

I've had a nasty cold this week.  I'm not one of those people who get "mild" colds.  When I get one, it b!*c# slaps me.  And I'm not a fan of medication, but when it comes to a cold and not being able to breathe through my nose, I will guzzle Theraflu and shoot Afrin up my nose like a drugstore junkie.

So, for the past two nights, Todd reports that I've been animated while in my drug-induced sleep.

On night one, I raised both my arms in the air and frantically cried, "WHERE ARE MY RINGS?"  Then I got up and went to check the place I normally keep them, saw that they were safely there, reported as such to Todd, climbed back into bed and went to sleep.

Then last night, I yelled, "WATER" in the middle of the night.  Todd jumped from bed and ran to the kitchen for water (in all fairness, I sometimes get crazy dry throat at night and wake up choking; that's why he rushed).  He brought a glass back for me but I was sound asleep.  Sweet man.

I wonder what shenanigans I'll pull tonight.  We really should set up a video camera.  I would like to see this.  And I'm sure you would, too!  Hehe.

Missing Home

Bryce (age 3) just walked into the living room and informed me that this house stinks (it does, it really really does, despite several rounds of carpet cleaning) and that we need to get a new one.  We've all been missing our old house lately.  I've had customers come over whom I've never met before, and I'm always embarrassed and have to tell them that this isn't our house.  Ugh.  It's pretty bad when even the 3 year old notices  :o\

That's depressing.

I Miss You (There seems to be a theme going on here)

To see you when I wake up
is a gift I didn't think could be real.
To know that you feel the same as I do
is a three-fold, utopian dream.
You do something to me that I can't explain.
So would I be out of line if I said,
I miss you.
I see your picture, I smell your skin on the empty pillow next to mine.
You have only been gone ten days, but already I'm wasting away.
I know I'll see you again
whether far or soon.
But I need you to know that I care
and I miss you.

I Miss You So Far (Cemetery Drive)

This night, walk the dead
In a solitary style
And crash the cemetery gates.
In the dress your husband hates
Way down, mark the grave
Where the search lights find us
Drinking by the mausoleum door
And they found you on the bathroom floor

I miss you, I miss you so far
And the collision of your kiss that made it so hard

Back home, off the run
Singing songs that make you slit your wrists
It isn't that much fun, staring down a loaded gun
So I won't stop dying, won't stop lying (are you there at all?)
If you want I'll keep on crying (do you care at all?)
Did you get what you deserve? (are you there at all?)
Is this what you always want me for?

I miss you, I miss you so far
And the collision of your kiss that made it so hard

Way down, way down
Way down, way down
Way down, way down
Way down, way down

I miss you, I miss you so far
And the collision of your kiss that made it so hard

When will I miss you, when will I miss you so far
And the collision of your kiss that made it so hard
Made it so hard

Way down, way down
Way down, way down
Way down, way down
Way down, way down
Way down...

I'm a Little Bit in Love (or Maybe a Lot)

Ruining this banquet for the mildly inspiring and...

When you're in black slacks with accentuating, off-white, pinstripes

Whoa, everything goes according to plan.

I'm the new cancer, never looked better, you can't stand it.

Because you say so under your breath.

You're reading lips "When did he get all confident?"

Haven't you heard that I'm the new cancer?

Never looked better, and you can't stand it

Next is a trip to the, the ladies room in vain, and

I bet you just can't keep up with, (keep up) with these fashionistas, and

Tonight, tonight you are, you are a whispering campaign.

I bet to them your name is "Cheap", I bet to them you look like shh...

Talk to the mirror, oh, choke back tears.

And keep telling yourself that "I'm a diva!"

Oh and the smokes in that cigarette box on the table,

they just so happen to be laced with nitroglycerin.

I'm the new cancer, never looked better, you can't stand it.

And I know, and I know, it just doesn't feel like a night out with no one sizing you up.

I've never been so surreptitious, so of course you'll be distracted when I spike the punch.
