Does God Exist?

I love the last point!  I wish more religionists could accept that!

3 holla'd back:

It's always interesting to hear people say that if they didn't believe in God, there would be no reason to refrain from raping, robbing and murdering (Dostoevsky's "If there is no God, everything is permitted.") O RLLY? So the threat of otherworldly punishment is the only thing keeping them in line? That's what they would prefer to be doing? Good to know who I need to keep a close eye on in the event they ever lose their faith!

Right?! I'm keeping a list so i know who to watch as well!

That attitude would be insulting if it weren't so pitiable. Since leaving the Mo church i've run into it (in person) a couple times. While still in church, members would say assinine things like, "Oh, so-and-so is so sweet...she's Mormon; she just hasn't been baptized yet." And the people they're making these bizarre statements about are no closer to being baptized a Mormon than an ant. But the only "sweet" (or kind, or good-hearted) people in the world are either Mo, or soon-to-be Mo in their thinking. It makes me cringe.

If I weren't able to laugh about it, I would have gone nuts a long time ago. There are so many people who have known me for years and have no idea how unchurched I am; they'll say things in front of me, assuming I agree with them, and I just snicker and roll my eyes.

Hey, lemme switch gears to a more cheerful subject here: since you obviously still have a passion for music and post so much of it here, I decided I should start reciprocating. Have you ever heard Erik Mongrain? Here's another song where he plays like a normal Earthling, but it's still incredible.

Andy McKee, whose videos you'll probably see in the sidebar, is another instrumentalist who does amazing things.
